Ms. Brown’s passion for educational advocacy comes from her own personal experience as a parent to children with special needs. She has spent many years advocating on behalf of her son, who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, and has also worked for services to accommodate the needs of her youngest son, who has a life-threatening kidney disorder.
Before the birth of her sons, Ms. Brown spent many years representing clients in litigation and Intellectual Property law matters at the law firm of Jeffer, Mangels, Butler and Mitchell, in Los Angeles. She has represented clients in mediation and has appeared before California state courts and the United States District Court, where she is admitted to practice.
Ms. Brown is a graduate of Harvard Law School, receiving her Juris Doctor in 1999. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 1996, where she graduated summa cum laude and was named Outstanding Senior Woman in her class.
